I was born in the wagon of a traveling show...
Well, as much as I feel like I live a gypsy lifestyle, and as much as my dad always thought I was destined to be a carnival barker, I was actually born and raised in Lincoln, NE. The first play I ever directed was at the ripe old age of 5, doing The Wizard of Oz in my backyard. I grew up doing lots of community theatre, helping with everything from sweeping the stage, to running the lightboard, to painting the sets, to popping the popcorn - I wanted to do it all! Not much has changed.
I graduated from Marymount Manhattan College and have since been directing and producing Off-Broadway. My most recent works are Broadway's Caroline, or Change revival (co-producer), off-Broadway's long running A Musical About Star Wars (director), and the decadent new soap opera, Mélange, starring Morgan Fairchild (editor).
My favorite things outside of my family, friends, dogs, and work are Madonna, Keith Haring, reading contemporary popular fiction, sunbathing, being a Leo, Alice in Wonderland, early MTV, Jem and the Holograms, E.T., and the color red.
